In the journey of providing inside sales training to different industry segments, we understood that the role of an inside sales representative has very much importance in the sales process. The way digital marketing team is responsible to create brand awareness and generate interest among the prospects. Inside Sales team is responsible for converting those interested prospects to a sales qualified the lead and transfer those leads to the sales team and help in generating revenue for the business. This is the reason why your digital marketing team and field sales team are complemented by the inside sales team.
Let's discuss very essential skills that every inside sales rep must have:
1. Confidence :
We have only one minute or less than that time to convince our prospects over the phone call. It's not so easy task to perform. It requires a confident voice as well as s confident presentation of the product or solution. You first have to be very much confidence about the solution that you are offering, then only you can transfer the confidence to your prospects over the phone.
2. Call Calibre :
It's your ability to make cold calls. Like how many calls you can make in a day. Some days you can make more calls and some days you make fewer calls. So on an average how many calls you make in a day need to be calculated. It is very muck know fact that inside sales reps don't only make a cold call. Other works have to be done at the same time but, still, an inside sales reps must count the number of calls they are making each and everyday buy note down on a notebook or on excel sheet. This process is very important to understand that who make calls you have to make to generate a single lead.
3. Handling questions from the prospects:
I can expect that you know your product very well. The same way your prospects expect that you are well aware of your products and services.
If he is looking for a solution for his organization he will surely test the availability solution that is present in the market. Before testing the solution your client will surely have any queries or questions and he will ask you for the answers
This is a very important stage. You have to handle this question carefully. I can guarantee you that if you handle this question properly you will able to close the deal soon. The same way if not handled properly then you will never able to close the deal no matter how hard you try in a later stage.
In conclusion, I would request you to focus on the above essential skills in your day to day inside sales job. Apart from these skills there are other skills that are equally important for every inside sale professional. I have discussed those in my previous articles.
