We were going well with the economy of our country and the job market. Suddenly we witness the spread of a COVID 19. Everything changed. All the Countries are in the state of lockdown. 

Currently, Work from home is the new normal. The job market is down. Employees are afraid of layoffs. Everyone is praying for things to improve. 

But, here I want to talk about a specific job role. That is inside sales. Will inside sales thrive in this environment. Will the decline of the demand. We are confused. But, here I would like to tell you my opinion based on facts and experience. 

First, look at what is inside sales? 

In a general term, inside sales is a job role that involves the selling of products and services over the phone or using internet platforms. The job role can vary from company to company. 

When Inside sales would thrive - 

Now, you will get to know at which condition an inside sales reps will thrive and grow in this pandemic situation. 

The inside sales reps have to take the complete responsibility of the sales cycle. Starting from lead generation over the phone or using the social platform to the closer of the deal. You will not get the support of the field sales team now. So, the complete process has to be handle by you. Can you understand the challenges here? 

This challenging environment will help you to grow. You will achieve the desired success if you can overcome this challenge. I will recommend giving your full potential to come up being a hero. All company wants a salesperson who can close deals sitting in the comfort of the office. 

To summarize, all the inside sales guy who wants to be part of the complete sale cycle and help the company in a difficult time will surely thrive. 

When inside sales would decline - 


There are cases where inside sales reps ply a particular role only.  For example, lead generation. Here, the inside sales reps do not perform the complete sales task. The task depends on others to complete. 

The company wants employees to take responsibility. In this situation, every employee should focus on how he can showcase his talent by accepting the challenges. 

But, when the inside sales reps do not want to involve in completing the task situation would be difficult for him. This attitude will help the company to grow. I would recommend all inside sales reps to take the complete responsibility of the sales cycle to survive and grow in this tough situation. Take responsibility and grow. 

You can depend on online presentations or webinars to promote your solution now. Everyone is sitting at home and most probably available for a webinar. So use this situation wisely.
