Today, I will discuss the top 10 inside sales skills necessary in the day to day job.
I will talk about my experience being inside sales reps in the Indian market.
Closer on Call.
Even though the in-person meeting is considered the best way of closing big deals, the focus has shifted to remote sales or sales on call.
Inside sales reps should know how to estimate the urgency of an account. Ask suitable quantitation to understand the requirements. Estimate the budget allocated in the project.
Provide readily available use cases to build confidence for the client. Tech the help from the technical team to finalize the requirement. Prepare commercial and approve from the management if required before sending to the customer.
Then start the negotiation process over the phone or email. Give the necessary discounts and close the order. Easy to say but very difficult to execute. But, inside sales reps have to master this.
Conducting Webinar.
Conducting webinars is an essential skill for inside sales reps to master. Knowing your product is compulsory for an effective presentation during the webinar. I would recommend you to study your product by yourself by visiting the website and going through the case studies. Once you develop the confidence in your solution and you can pitch accordingly. In this stage, you can convert suspects in your prospects.
Rapport Building.
In the webinar presentation, you will get a chance to build rapport with your prospects. Building rapport is necessary to understand how they feel about your solution. Rapport creates an environment of understanding and builds trust. The trust helps you during the negotiation process. The report helps in understanding each other's mind share and helps both the parties. Rapport building is an essential skill to master.
Email Campaign.
After cold calling, an email campaign is the most essential skill to learn. Knowing how to conduct an effective email campaign is necessary for today's era. Once you increase the number of emails you send then automatically increase the number of responses you receive on your email campaign. These statistics will help you in retargeting your email list. Negotiation.
Negotiation is a fundamental aspect of selling. Here you have to relax and control your emotion. Negotiation is the process of understanding both parties and ensures a win-win situation for both. The negotiation process needs to handle very carefully and politely. But, every individual has a different technique to handle this.
